EAU CLAIRE COUNTY: Lake Eau Claire Water Quality Study Task 3 of 3

Purpose

Eau Claire County, Land Conservation Division, proposes to conduct a complete evaluation of nutrient loading and water quality study on Lake Eau Claire. The County will enter a partnership involving, Lake Eau Claire Association, Augusta High School Biology Class and the Army Corp of Engineers. This part of the overall three phase project will describe the overall results of the studies and an interpretation of all the data. The following will be included in the report; water quality trends, variations in loading, trophic state index evaluation, and nutrient/seston budgetary information. Also included in the final report will be a modeling evaluation of the impacts of P loading reduction scenarios on chlorophyll a concentrations in Lake Eau Claire. The model used will be BATHTUB (Walker 1987). The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by fact sheets distribution, public meetings, local newspaper articles, TV/radio spots and a poster display.
