BARRON COUNTY: LMI-Barron County Land Use Plan, 1998-99

Purpose

Barron County proposes to develop a land use plan to assist the county in protecting its valuable land and water resources. The Barron County Land Use Plan will have the following components; 1) Inventory and Analysis of the Natural Environment, 2) Inventory and Analysis of the "Built" Environment, 3) Plan Development, 4) Plan Implementation, 5) Public Involvement/Education, and 6) On-Going Education. The preparation of the Barron County Land Use Plan will involve a variety of stakeholders, including towns association, realtors, lakes associations, property owners, etc.. A planning committee will be established which will be representative of these interested parties. Project deliverables include the final land use plan. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and local newspaper articles. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with periodic reports on the progress of the plan development.
