POLK COUNTY: Riparian Stewardship & Education Project

Purpose

The Polk County Land and Water Resources Department will sponsor a project in cooperation with the Polk County Association of Lakes and Rivers (PCALR) and Wisconsin Association of Lakes. The project includes a multi-media education project targeting lakefront property owners, other residents and visitors to Polk Co. The project includes the development of a series of posters, two brochures, updates to the "Who's Who: Contacts for your Waterfront Property Question", public service announcements, an E-Lake Letter, a link to the county web site. The project will also serve to increase participation in the PCALR. PCALR will also set up a display at the 2005 Annual Lakes Convention summarizing their project and the success of it. Specific deliverables for this project will include a summary report detailing the number of people reached and a review of the success of the project in addition to copies of the educational materials developed for the project.
