CHIPPEWA COUNTY LAND CONSERVATION DEPT: LCO-Chippewa County Lakes Ordinance Project

Purpose

The Chippewa County Land Conservation Department proposes to conduct a countywide land use planning and zoning initiative to protect the County's lakes from nonpoint source pollution. Local land use policy, regulations and ordinances will be developed and presented for town and county government adoption. Project activities include: 1) a public education and participation process; 2) an evaluation and revision to existing County land use policy; 3) an evaluation and upgrade of applicable County ordinances; 4) implementation assistance to the towns of Hallie and Lafayette, Anson, Eagle Point, Bloomer, Cleveland, Estella, Sampson, Birch Creek, or Lake Holcomb. Specific deliverables for this project shall include: an information and education project plan, leadership training agendas and support materials, survey questionnaires and results, and the following publications: Policy Evaluation Report, County Land Use Policy Document, County Zoning Evaluation and Diagnostic Report, Detailed Policy/Procedures Manual for Code Administration and Enforcement, Recommended Staffing Plan & Implementation Budget for Code Administration and Enforcement, Summary of Regulatory and Non Regulatory Mechanisms to Manage Development in Rural and Urbanizing Areas of Chippewa County, An Addendum to the Town of Hallie Land Use Plan, and a Resource Assessment and Report of Development Trends and Land Use Plan for some of the additional towns listed above.The Chippewa County Land Conservation
