FOX WOLF WATERSHED ALLIANCE: Schoenick Creek Watershed Improvement Project Phase II

Purpose

Fox-Wolf 2000 proposes to work with the Schoenick Creek Task Force and the UW-Stevens Point Environmental Task Force to conduct surface water quality monitoring on Long and Schoenick Lakes. Groundwater sampling will be done at inflow and outflow locations of Long Lake. As a result of the sampling, a nutrient budget will be developed for both Long and Schoenick Lakes. The final product of Phase II will be a final report of the current water quality of the Schoenick Creek watershed. A public meeting will be held to disseminate the results and as a result of the study and landowner input, a water quality improvement plan will be developed. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of all assessments and plans.
