WAUKESHA CO. DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & LAND USE: LCO-Waukesha County Shoreland Management

Purpose

Waukehsa County proposes to evaluate the ecological impact of provisions in the county's shoreland ordinance violations. This grant agreement covers the following first year project activities contained in the project application proposal: (1) hire and train a full-time limited term staff person who will conduct an inventory of selected lakes to establish a baseline status and database of riparian development; (2) print and distribute "Guide to Waukesha County Permit, Licensing and Land Development" to local officials and real estate development industry and consultants (3) conduct shoreland protection focused land use regulation training sessions for township officials; (4) analyze DNR research data on impact of shoreland stabilization techniques; (5) compile water quality information and education packet for distribution by lake groups to lake residents, and (6) assist staff in the documentation of and follow up of alleged shoreland code violations.
