LAKE ALTOONA P & R DISTRICT: Lake Altoona Sediment Study-Delta Dredge Design

Purpose

1) Produce a detailed bathymetric mapping of the mouth of Lake Altoona. 2) Develop a delta dredge cut design. 3) Complete an environmental assessment. 4) Complete permit applications delta dredging. 5) Complete lake drawdown. 6) Prepare a finalreport which includes tasks 1 - 5 listed above. 7) The grantee will disseminate information to the public by newsletter mailings, public meetings, summary report mailings, a comprehensive management plan, and radio and/or TV spots. The grantee willprovide the Department of Natural Resources with a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. Project resluts will be reposited at Eau Claire County Land Conservation Dept. 227 First St. W, Altoona, WI.

The Lake Altoona Protection and Rehabilitation District (LAD) received three Lake Management Planning Grants from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources IWDNR) to assist in the planning and design of a sediment dredgng project. The grants were obtained for the following components of the project: 1. LPL-297 Delta Dredging 2. LPL-298 Dewatering Basin 3. LPL-299 Sediment Trap
