Reports and Documents
Solberg Lake is a reservoir located in Price County, Wisconsin (Figure 1). Solberg Lake was formed by damming the Squaw River. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (or Department of Conservation) has been working oil Solberg Lake since the 1950's conducting fish surveys and stocking gamefish and panfish. The goals of Solberg Lake project were to understand factors influencing Solberg Lake water quality and to design projects that would improve lake conditions. In 1991, Blue Water Science (St . Paul, Minnesota) sampled Solberg in June, July and August and conducted an aquatic plant survey in August to characterize existing conditions in the lake. We used existing WDNR fishery records to evaluate the fish community.

Activities & Recommendations
Grant Awarded
Determination and mapping of watershed boundaries. Water chemistry samples. Phytoplankton samples. Aquatic plant survey. Existing fish survey data will be evaluated. Nutrient budget will be calculated. Water level readings to be taken. Informationdissemination. Survey of lake recreational use will be developed. Feasibility plans for upgrading the public boat landings will be developed. Plan will be developed to more clearly mark the dam spillway. Comprehensive lake management plan will be developed.
