IROGAMI LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Irogami Lake Management Planning

Purpose

Conduct in-lake water quality sampling for parameters and on schedule shown in Table 1 attached to application. The sampling location is shown in Figure 1, attached to the application. Update watershed inventory conducted in 1983. Delineate watershedboundaries; map land use and potential pollution sources. Estimate sediment and phosphorous loading to lake using computer models. Produce a map which shows significant pollution sources. Prepare a lake management plan which will include elementslisted in 'C.4 Preparation of a Lake Management Plan', attached to the application. Information will be disseminated to the public by newsletter mailings, public meetings, and local newspaper articles. Project results will be reposited at the locallibrary and town halls.

R. A. Smith and Associates prepared a feasibility study addressing the current concerns of the Irogami Lake Management District. In-lake monitoring was conducted, watershed inventories were updated, and management alternatives were re-examined under current lake conditions. Recommendations for management alternatives have also been considered.
