WISCONSIN COUNTY CODE ADMINISTRATORS: LCO-Shoreland Friends, Phase 2

Purpose

The Shoreland Friends Project, Phase 2 will include the printing of 150 copies of the Shoreland Friends Guidebook which was developed in Phase 1 of this project. The guidebooks will be made available to countyise wishing to establish a local Shoreland Friends Project.. Through this project a standard Shoreland Friends Packet will be developed in addition to other media material; promotional and/or marketing methods. An independent contractor will be employed to serve as project coordinator; provide consultation; evaluate project effectiveness; advise participating counties in customizing educational packages; administer grant reimbursement procedures with the participating counties; promote the Shoreland Friends Initiative's goals, products, and assistance. The contractor will also provide tecchnical assistance including specific marketing strategies and follow-up evaluation methods to counties that are ready to establish a Shoreland Friends Project. Project deliverables for this grant project will be a final report, evaluation results showing the impact of shoreland friends packet, assessment of the value in using additonal promeotional efforts, and next steps. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of all project products and periodic reports on the progress of the project. Scope amendment number 1: Phase 2 will focus on creating local shoreland education plans for the 11 participating counties. Additional project deliverables as a result of the scope amendment will include the shoreland education plan, implementation records, results of standardized surveys and future recommendations for each of the participating counties.
