Washburn County proposes to conduct a county-wide Resource Inventory Lake Protection project to amend the county zoning ordinance and develop a GPS based multiple layer resource mapping system.
Activities associated with this project will include; formation of a citizens advisory committee, development of zoning ordinance amendments and floodplain and stormwater regulations, development of resource map overlays documenting watersheds, land uses, water bodies, wetlands, habitat corridors, vegetation cover, and unique land features and scenic vistas, evaluation of public access to water resources in connection with the recently adopted county lake classification system, and conduct of an ongoing public participation and education program on the revised regulations, etc.
