WASHBURN COUNTY LAKES AND RIVERS ASSOCIATION: Communication Outreach Project

Purpose

The Washburn County Lakes and Rivers Association will conduct an informational and educational project to provide lake management and protection information to it's members and the general public in Washburn County. This project will consist of four communication efforts; 1) Conduct of a seminar designed to enhance the communication skills of lake residents, lake organizations, youth and adult leaders, and the WCLRA board. 2) Development and printing of a new brochure to inform county residents and visitors of the services available from the WCLRA and local lake protection efforts. 3) Issuing a special edition of the WCLRA newsletter informing of new legislative and regulatory changes regarding lake management and other important water resource issues. 4) Development of a comprehensive WCLRA computer database to assist the organization in improving it's communication capabilities. Specific deliverables for this project include a copy of a summary report and copies of any informational handouts prepared for distribution. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and local newspaper articles.
