MOEN LAKE CHAIN ASSOCIATION: Moen Lake AIS Control, Clean Boats Clean Water

Purpose

Moen Lake Chain Association is sponsoring an AIS Education Prevention & Planning project which will focus on implementing a Clean Boats/Clean Water program, hiring an AIS Coordinator and implementing an adopt-a-shoreline program. Project activities include: 1) Recruit volunteers and implement a CB/CW program on 1 public and 3 private landings on the Chain from Memorial Day-3rd week of September, 2006 2) Hire an AIS Coordinator (primary duties listed in proposal) 3) Deliver suspect AIS to WDNR 4) Disperse AIS information in local community 5) Conduct AIS monitoring surveys by boat and shoreline 6) Summarize project results in newsletter and local media 7) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 onto Dept website by coordinator Deliverables include: - Completed entry of inspection forms 3200-120 onto Dept website - Newsletter article - Local media articles/news releases - Informational packets - AIS position description - Final report summarizing CB/CW and AIS monitoring programs Specific conditions for this project: - A minimum of 200 CB/CW inspection hours at public landing is needed - Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report and deliverables listed above.
