GREEN LAKE COUNTY: LCO-Green Lake Co. Shorline Inventory

Purpose

Green Lake County Land Conservation Department is sponsoring a Lake Protection Grant to conduct a shoreline inventory of lakes in the county. The lakes to be inventoried are Big Green, Little Green, Puckaway, Big Twin, Little Twin, Spring (Kingston), Spring (Green Lake), Grand, Heart and Maria. Major components of this work include: 1. Development of shoreline inventory metrics and survey data a. Metrics will include data such as vegetation surveys, erosion, slope, structures and anthropogenic influences. 2. Shore land inventory of lakes a. Photo inventory of all shorelines 3. Database Development a. Using GIS mapping software 4. Outreach a. Educational materials sent to property owners informing them about the projects and how classification maps can be accessed. Project Deliverables: 1. Shore land inventory protocol a. Including metrics to be assessed 2. Spatially referenced GIS layer maps created from shore land inventory data a. Digital and hard copies 3. Digital archive of spatially referenced shoreline photographs 4. Maps of base metrics (erosion severity and buffers) a. Digital and hard copies 5. Educational materials sent to property owners This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional lake coordinator.
