BIG MUSKEGO/BASS BAY P & R DISTRICT: Big Muskego Lake Containment/Suppression of Starry Stonewort

Purpose

The Big Muskego Lake/Bass Bay P & R District, in partnership with the City of Muskego and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, will undertake a rapid response project on Big Muskego to control Starry Stonewort, an NR 40 prohibited species, at the three major boat launches (Boxhorn, Hunters and Durham). The project will include a full point intercept plant survey; Clean Boats, Clean Waters inspections at three launches and two years of chemical treatment of Starry Stonewort at 3 launches. The project deliverable will be a report containing the results of the P/I survey (raw data, distribution/density maps of Starry Stonewort, EWM, CLP and the top 7 native plants in terms of frequency of occurrence), results of the boat trailer survey by CBCW inspectors and CBCW data. All Clean Boats, Clean Waters data must be entered in the statewide SWIMS database.
