LAKE REDSTONE PROTECTION DISTRICT: Lake Redstone 2 yr Aquatic Plant Managment Implementation

Purpose

The Lake Redstone P&R District is sponsoring a project to carry out management activities that support goals of the lake\2019s 2015 Aquatic Plant Management plan, which is focused on control of Eurasian watermilfoil, and promotion of healthy, native aquatic plants. Project final deliverables include: EWM management and monitoring documents as described in the grant application, raw data and maps of CLP and other invasive species of interest, Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) education data entered into swims database, documentation about manual plant removal training, a 2017 lake fair and a shoreland improvement workshop, and a shoreland improvement brochure of local examples. Specific project activities include: Management of EWM and corresponding monitoring of plant community in treatment areas, coordination of a District CBCW education program, District will put on a AIS Identification and Physical Removal Workshop in June of each year, search for and document CLP and other invasive species, put on a lake fair in 2017, organize a shoreline improvement workshop and create a brochure featuring local examples of best management practices. Special Conditions: Not applicable. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
