GREEN LAKE SANITARY DISTRICT: LMI-Big Green Lake FDL County Implementation

Purpose

Green Lake Sanitary District is sponsoring a lake protection grant on Green Lake, Green Lake County. The main goal of this protection grant is to reduce the nutrient loading to the lake through the various activities listed below. The following work activities will be completed: 1. Implementation / construction of specified BMP\2019s in the Fond du Lac County portion of Green Lake. 2. Implement plan to restore the County K Estuary to a plant dominated system. a. Add bubble barrier as a secondary barrier to carp passage. b. Monitor the effectiveness of barriers to carp passage. c. Conduct repairs to barriers as necessary. d. Purchase, plant and monitor aquatic plants in K Estuary. Planting specifics determined in consultation with and approval from District Lake Coordinator (E.G. timing, densities, species etc.) 3. Education and Informational Activities a. As possible - Press releases, public informational meetings, newsletters, presentations, informational videos, kiosks The following deliverables (products) will result from this grant: 1. Final Report submitted to local DNR Lakes Biologist (1 digital copy / two hard copies). a. Listing of all BMP\2019s installed over the duration of grant b. Photographs of each BMP \2013 prior to and after installation c. Photographs of completed carp barriers in operation (digital) d. Pre and Post plant survey results of County K Estuary restoration effort. e. Photographic documentation (Digital) of K Estuary during restoration process (broad landscape photos and close-ups during field visits). i. Organize a report compiled of photographs with dates and times. f. Pre and Post fish survey results of County K Estuary i. Tabulation of fish by species and lengths sampled (fyke nets) by the Sanitary District. Provide summary of DNR survey results. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein
