TOWN OF RIVERVIEW: Town of Riverview - Winslow Lake HWM Rapid Response II

Purpose

The Town of Riverview proposes to control Hybrid Watermilfoil in Winslow Lake by implementing surveying control measures during the period 2018-2021. The project elements and deliverables are specified in the Town of Riverview\2019s Aquatic Invasive Species Emergency Response Grant application, dated November 22, 2017. The project includes conducting three early season Aquatic Invasive Species surveys (AIS), three late spring AIS surveys, and three late season peak biomass surveys. A whole lake Point Intercept survey using the DNR Aquatic Plant Treatment Evaluation Protocol http://www4.uwsp.edu/cnr/uwexlakes/ecology/APM/Appendix-D.pdf. will also be performed in 2020. Additionally, Hybrid Watermilfoil will be controlled using DASH (diver assisted suction harvesting) and/or hand pulling. Annual progress reports and a final report summarizing the 3-year project will be provided to DNR. Any publications produced as part of the project will incorporate the \201CStop Aquatic Hitchhikers!\201D\2122 brand (partnership details can be found at: http://www.protectyourwaters.org). If consultant is to provide the final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Water Resource Management Specialist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant.
