LAKESHORE NATURAL RESOURCES PARTNERSHIP INC.: Expanding the Reach of the Friends of the Twin Rivers

Purpose

Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership (LNRP) is sponsoring a project to continue to support the Friends of the Twin Rivers by engaging area citizens in educational activities in the Twin Rivers watersheds. Project final deliverables include: a final summary report which includes all activities completed during the grant period including all data collected, agendas and minutes for planning meetings, presentations, newsletters and educational materials provided to the public and all data entered into the SWIMS databases. Specific project activities include: 1) Host guided river paddles to build appreciate for, and stewardship of the East and West Twin River watershed; 2) Hold river, trail and beach clean-up events with a special focus on the kayak launch. Information will be shared on social media newsletters and websites; 3) Monitor the East and West Twin River following Water Action Volunteer (WAV) protocols and recruit and train new volunteers to monitor the rivers; 4) Annually review action plan and develop State of the Watershed updates; 5) Plan and co-host at least three public workshops and educational seminars on issues affecting the health of the East and West Twin River watershed. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Rivers Biologist. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Rivers Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
