TOWN OF PLUM LAKE: Town of Plum Lake Mgmt Plan PhIII - Big Muskellunge Lake

Purpose

The Town of Plum Lake is sponsoring a LPL grant to study Big Muskellunge Lake, in Vilas County, with a study completion date of June 30, 2021. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP). Activities: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 planning meetings (up to 2) and wrap-up meeting 2) Water quality sampling and analysis 3) Watershed assessment and P load modeling 4) Fisheries, Shoreland, and Coarse Woody Habitat assessment 5) Professional Dreissena monitoring 6) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, community mapping, and early-season AIS) 7) Early and late-season AIS surveys on Little Star Lake 8) Data analysis and develop LMP Project deliverables include: 1) Water chemistry data 2) Watershed maps and modeling data 3) PI, shoreland and woody habitat data 4) Aquatic plant community and AIS maps 5) Aquatic plant vouchers 6) LMP Specific project conditions: - Draft of LMP needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, data from PI survey, shoreland assessment, woody habitat assessment, watershed assessment and water quality sampling, all maps from project, all GIS data, and aquatic plant vouchers.
