Purpose

To cost-share installation of manure management and waste transfer practices to conform farm operations to the nutrient management agricultural performance standards under NR 151.07.

Objective

Construct a Manure Storage System on the farm which is very limited on the amount of acres available for the safe application of manure on frozen/snow covered ground; along with the areas limited to Nitrogen applications on soils with high groundwater or high permeability.

Outcome

Concrete manure storage facility (93, 000 cubic yards, 210-day storage capacity) , including manure piston pump, completed bu August, 2008.
