BUFFALO COUNTY: Craig Peterson Farm

Purpose

To cost-share landowner installation of runoff management practices designed to enable the Craig Peterson farm operation to achieve compliance with the agricultural performance standards and prohibitions under Subchapter II of NR 151 relating to prevention of direct runoff from a feedlot or stored manure into waters of the state.

Outcome

"At this site the pounds of phosphorus leaving this feedlot was reduced to .7 pounds." per Julie Lindstrom, Buffalo County Conservationist, 12/15/2009. Barnyard runoff control system and grade stabilizaiton structure, to reduce soil erosion, were constructed.
