LAKE NOKOMIS CONCERNED CITIZEN'S INC.: Bridge Lake Aquatic Invasive Species Control & Prevention

Purpose

Lake Nokomis Concerned Citizens (LNCC) is sponsoring an AIS ACEI grant on Bridge Lake in Lincoln County to be completed by December 31, 2012. This is a four year project that will focus on EWM management, and AIS education, prevention and monitoring. The goal is to reduce the treatable EWM to less than 10 acres. This will allow LNCC to continue management of AIS with minimal state financial assistance. Project activities include: 1) Annual chemical treatments of EWM; 2) Annual Pre and Post treatment monitoring and analysis; 3) Annual volunteer AIS monitoring; 4) Recruit volunteers and implement a CB/CW program; 5)Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website; 6)Develop annual project report and a final report. Project deliverables include: 1) Chemical control of EWM; 2) Pre and post treatment survey data; 3) Completed entry of inspection 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website; 4) AIS educational, prevention and monitoring activities; 5)Final report summarizing EWM management during project and future EWM management suggestions, CB/CW activities, AIS monitoring and AIS educational activities. Specific Conditions for this project: Final report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, all annual reports, pre and post treatment survey data, and samples of educational and outreach products.
