LAKESHORE NATURAL RESOURCES PARTNERSHIP INC.: SWE - Friends of Stony Brook Dev & Community Engagement

Purpose

Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership is sponsoring a project to engage stakeholders, build a steering committee, and develop a vision for Friends of Stony Brook (FOSB). Specific project activities include: 1) Establishment of a FOSB steering committee that will guide future restoration efforts and build community support for Stony Brook Creek; 2) A strategic plan with a mission statement, vision statement, annual action plan, and long-term goals; 3) Development of a website and social media account; 4) Publish newsletters and create press releases; 5) Host a field day that demonstrates both the trout rearing program and restoration projects; 6) Support the promotion of community-based conservation easements by providing outreach and education to landowners who might consider easement on their property; 7) FOSB will design and install signage on conservation easement properties; 8) FOSB will create a video from drone footage of an aerial view of Stony Brook Creek; 9) Final report summarizing the project. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Streams Biologist. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Streams Biologist with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
