MARINETTE COUNTY: Marinette County AIS Coordinator Project

Purpose

Marinette county proposes to conduct an aquatic invasive species (AIS) education, prevention, planning, and control project during the period of October 2008 - December 2011. The project elements and deliverables are specified in Marinette County's Aquatic Invasive Species Control Grant application, dated July 31, 2008. The project includes hiring a coordinator; identify partners and assist these partners with developing control projects; organize and implement demonstration control field days; assist lake groups with implementing clean boats clean waters programs: provide easy access to aquatic invasive resources that are relevant to Marinette County's issues and concerns; manage current invasive species database, website and advertising, any publications are to include the stop aquatic hitch hikers logo; and develop control methods to manage new infestations. A mid-term progress report and a final report summarizing the three-year project will be provided to DNR. The grantee will provide the DNR Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator with a draft of the final report for comment on report adequacy prior to requesting final reimbursement. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to, submission of grantee's final payment request.
