CHILTON LAKE DISTRICT: COMP-CHilton Millpond Comprehensive Management Planning Project

Purpose

The Chilton Lake District is sponsoring a project to develop a Comprehensive Lake Management Plan for the Chilton Millpond (Lake Chilton). The project will analyze historical and current ecological data to identify threats, determine goals and values of stakeholders, and present feasible management actions. Project final deliverables include: 1) In-lake water quality monitoring; 2) Watershed assessment and lake response modeling; 3) Collect and analyze multi-channel sonar data on Lake Chilton to create a lake contour map; 4) Fishery data compilation and integration within management plan; 5) Shoreline and coarse woody habitat assessment; 6) Assess current aquatic plant community utilizing three separate surveys; 7) Completion of a stakeholder survey sent to all Chilton Lake District members; 8) Public participation in the planning process utilizing general public and planning committee meetings; 9) Develop realistic and implementable comprehensive management plan for the Chilton Lake District to manage Chilton Lake. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
