PIKE LAKE CHAIN LAKES ASSOCIATION, INC.: Round/Amik Lakes, Lake Management Plan Update

Purpose

The Pike Lake Chain Lakes Association will update the Lake Management Plan for Round and Amik Lakes. The original plan was completed tin 2003. The project includes the following goals: 1) Characterize and interpret existing lake conditions; 2) Update and review the aquatic plant community (point intercept plant surveys) and lake water quality status; 3) Prepare an aquatic invasive species assessment; 4) Updated comprehensive lake management plan. Project deliverables include: 1) Lake water quality analysis (including an updated watershed analysis) and water quality model (nutrient budget); 2) Point intercept aquatic plant survey for Round and Amik Lakes; 3) Aquatic invasive species assessment for Round and Amik Lakes; 4) Updated comprehensive lake management plan; 5) Write a \201Clake magazine\201D piece (information and education). Specific conditions for this Project: 1) The WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of all data and or reports/plans generated as a result of this project; 2) Follow department protocol when conducting the point intercept study; 3) Provide hard copy of point intercept data in proper spreadsheet format; 4) Contact Laura Herman (715-365-8998) at UW-Extension to learn about AIS monitoring programs.
