KETTLE MORAINE LAKE ASSOCIATION: Kettle Moraine Lake 2023 EWM Management Project

Purpose

Kettle Moraine Lake Association proposes to continue to assess the aquatic plant community in Kettle Moraine Lake in 2023 and 2024, create annual reports and provide the results to the general public through outreach meeting. Project final deliverables include: Annual monitoring reports with maps that discuss the survey results as well as possible control strategies for the following year. Specific project activities include: 1) Conduct whole-lake point-intercept aquatic plant surveys in 2023 and 2024; 2) Conduct whole-lake late-season Eurasian watermilfoil mapping surveys in 2023 and 2024; 3) Create annual monitoring reports with maps that discuss the survey results as well as possible control strategies for the following year; 4) Conduct a strategic planning committee meeting; 5) conduct a general public project results meeting. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist.
