TOWN OF SPIDER LAKE: Methods of Aquatic Invasive Species Education, Prevention & Detection on Spider Lake

Purpose

The Spider Chain of Lakes is Eurasian Water Milfoil free at this time. This is a result of the Clean Boats/Clean Waters program (CB/CW) that has been in place for a number of years. In cooperation with the Town of Spider Lake they will continue this program of prevention activities. The project includes the following goals: 1) Keep Spider Lake Chain of Lakes free of EWM and other invasive species; 2) Continue to monitor the shoreline for invasive species through the citizen lake monitoring program; 3) Educate users and landowners about curly leaf pondweed; 4) Continue to decrease purple loosestrife around the lake. Project deliverables include: 1) Provide maps of AIS in the Spider Chain of Lakes; 2) Provide summary of CB/CW work results and enter the data into SWIMS. Specific conditions for this Project: The WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of all data and or reports/plans generated as a result of this project.
