TOWN OF WASHINGTON: A Lake Protection Plan for Anvil Lake

Purpose

The Town of Washington is sponsoring phased large scale lake planning grants to study Anvil Lake. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Anvil Lake, which will allow Anvil Lake to become eligible for lake protection grant money in the lake management plan implementation category. Phase 2 project activities include: 1) Placement and instrumentation of two groundwater monitoring wells; 2) Placement and instrumentation of an automated lake-stage recorder; 3) Placement and instrumentation of an automated precipitation gauge. Project deliverables include: 1) Groundwater monitoring, lake-stage and precipitation data and analysis; 2) US Geological Survey (USGS) data report. Specific conditions for this project: USGS data report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of USGS data report and all data from groundwater monitoring, lake-stage, and precipitation, all maps from project, and all GIS data.
