VILLAGE OF BELLEVILLE: RES-Lake Belle View Restoration Proj.

Purpose

The Village of Belleville proposes, as part of a whole-lake restoration project to restore, create, and protect rare forested floodplain habitat within the lake and adjoining area. The funds will be spent on placing sediment adjacent to existing floodplain forest islands to both protect the existing islands from further erosion as well as create new islands that will eventually be restored to floodplain forest, per the restoration plan on file. The deliverable from this project will be a final report summarizing the project, with photos. The final report will be submitted to the department and placed in the local public library.
