West Twin River 303(d) validation NER_03_CMP12 -

Purpose

The West Twin River (WBIC = 87000, assessment units 9948, 9949, 9950, 18050, & 18051) is currently on the 303(d) list. However, some of the data used to determine the impairments are old and need to be updated and verified. This project will also compile existing data on the West Twin River to update data documentation sheets. This project will improve the accuracy of the 303(d) list.

Outcome

1) The West Twin River will be monitored at five locations: one site in each assessment unit 9948, 9949, 9950, 18050, & 18051. 2) A habitat assessment will be conducted in each assessment unit. Also continuous dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature monitoring will be done for one week in each assessment unit. 3) Habitat assessments and continuous DO monitoring will be done in July or August 2011. 4) All data will be entered into appropriate databases by February 2012, 5) Final report will be complete by June 30, 2012.
