TEAL, LOST LAND & GHOST LAKES IMPROVMT ASSOC: Teal Lake & Teal River Dam Clean Boat Clean Water Program

Purpose

The Teal, Lost Land and Ghost Lakes Improvement Association will sponsor a project to conduct a Clean Boat Clean Water (CBCW) monitoring and education program to prevent introduction of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) on Teal Lake and the Teal River Dam. Project goals include: 1) CBCW monitoring at the public boat ramp; 2) Provide educational literature to distribute to the membership, private lodge owners, guides, individual owners of ramps, and users of the public boat ramps; 3) Host a gardener workshop following Kristy Maki\2019s \201CMail Order Invasives\201D Presentation; 4) Performing a 5-year update of our Aquatic Plant Management Plan. Project deliverables include: 1) Provide the department a summary of the volunteer AIS monitoring and number of hours/boaters contacted under CBCWaters Program; 2) Updated APM plan for the Quite Lakes. Specific conditions for this project: 1) The WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of all data and or reports/plans generated as a result of this project; 2) Contact UW-Extension staff for information on training, workshops or educational materials for the AIS Monitoring (Laura Herman, 715-365-8998) Program.
