Follow up monitoring Potters Lake, Walworth County and Little Muskego Lake, Waukesha County 2013

Purpose

Heidi Bunk will collect TP and Chlorophyll a samples from Potters Lake in Walworth County at the established "Middle of Lake". Samples will be collected 3 times between July 16th and September 15th in both the summers of 2012 and 2013. Secchi disk measurement and a hydrolab profile will also be collected (Temp, pH, D.O., Cond).Heidi Bunk will collect TP and Chlorophyll a samples from Little Muskego Lake in Waukesha County at the established "Deep Hole" as well as central north bay. This lake is a "raised" lake. The deep hole has very different set of water quality characteristics than the shallow, flooded wetland areas. Secchi disk measurement and a hydrolab profile will also be collected (Temp, pH, D.O., Cond).

Objective

The project will collect TP and Chlorophyll a data for both lakes to see if the values fall below or above the thresholds listed in WISCALM. Two years of values are needed to determine if each lake will be a listed water or not. WBIC for Potters Lake is 753800; WBIC for Little Muskego is 762700. I wrote this project for the summers of 2012 and 2013. I am also open to starting this project in the summer of 2013.

Outcome

Project outcome will be the collection of data to meet the data threshold for the WISCALM guidance. Project deliverables will be 6 sets of TP and Chlorophyll a data over two years for each lake as well as 6 secchi disk readings and 6 hydrolab profiles. Little Muskego will have two sampling sites; Potters will have one sampling site.
