SQUASH LAKE ASSOC: Squash Lake AIS Education Project

Purpose

Squash Lake Association is sponsoring an AEPP grant for Squash Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention and monitoring. Project activities include: 1) Conduct volunteer watercraft inspections; 2) Hire AIS Coordinator; 3) Entry of inspection data into SWIMS; 4) Conduct AIS education \2013 update information and signs at boat landing, presentations at lake meetings, write newsletter article(s), submit news releases, update website; 5) Host a volunteer recognition reception; 6) Develop final report. Project deliverables include: 1) Hired coordinator; 2) Entered inspection data into SWIMS; 3) Final report summarizing inspection activities, monitoring, and AIS educational activities. Specific Conditions for this project: Final report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) of final report, samples of assembled AIS information, newsletter article(s) and news releases.
