SPRING LAKE OF WAUKESHA CO PROP OWNERS ASSOC: Spring Lake Phragmites Control Project

Purpose

The Spring Lake of Waukesha County Property Owners Association will hire a contractor to attempt the eradication of a population of Phragmites located in 2.6 acres of wetlands along the shoreline of Spring Lake. The project will cover a four year period and will include mechanical removal, hand removal, backpack chemical treatment, hand wicking of chemical and foliar spraying of chemical. The contractor will also map areas that need treatment each year. The project deliverable is a report detailing the harvesting and chemical treatments that occurred each year; before and after maps showing the extent of the Phragmites infestation each year, and a discussion that evaluates the effectiveness of the mechanical and chemical treatments.
