Acuminate Water Boatman (Ramphocorixa acuminata), a Wisconsin Special Concern true bug, belongs to the Corixidae family and most often occur in lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and marshes. Like several aquatic insect families, water boatmen breath beneath the surface by clutching a bubble of air under their wings. Most species are collectors or gatherers and feed on small organisms found in sediment. Adults are 3-11mm long.
