Yellow-breasted Chat (Icteria virens), a Special Concern species in Wisconsin, is a medium-sized bird with a long tail, distinguished by its bright yellow chest and throat. Its back is olive-green and its belly and undertail are white. It nests in second-growth habitats, old pastures, thickets, and brush, particularly near streams and ponds. Nest cups are constructed from plant material like grasses and strips of bark and are lined with fine grasses. One to six white eggs covered with dark speckles are laid.
