Brewer's Blackbird (Euphagus cyanocephalus), a State Special Concern species, is found in various open uplands across Wisconsin. Brewer's Blackbirds are colonial nesters in open agricultural fields (including hay), grasslands, meadows, old fields, and sometimes along marsh edges. They appear to like recently burned areas with some nearby trees or snags present. The recommended avoidance period is May 1 - August 1.
