Shortjaw Cisco (Coregonus zenithicus), listed as Special Concern, prefers large lakes along all shores, ranging between 18-163m in depth. In Wisconsin it has only been found in Lake Superior. Spawning time is quite variable. Spawning populations have been observed in May, August, and December.
