Bluntnose Darter (Etheostoma chlorosoma), listed as Endangered in Wisconsin, prefers sluggish currents with sparse to moderate vegetation. They are found in the oxbows, ponds, sloughs, and pools of the Mississippi River over mud, clay, mixed sand, and mud. Spawning occurs from mid-May through mid-June when water temperatures range from 10.0 to 15.6 deg Celsius.
