Friess Environmental Consulting (FEC) submitted a soil placement request for approval on October 27, 2016 to allow disposal of excavated contaminated soil at a non-landfill location (R&R Excavating). The DNR initially requested further information due to insufficient soil sampling per quantity of soil.
FEC conducted additional sampling on December 14, 2016 and submitted sampling results to DNR on Dec 19, 2016.
The DNR approved removing/disposing of 7000 cubic yards of excavated contaminated soil to R&R Excavating site, in accordance with approved reclamation plan.
The soil is currently in the process of being excavated per the approved plan.
