Site Investigation work began in June 2017. This included installing Geoprobe borings and temporary wells and associated soil and ground water sampling. The results were documented in a Soil and Ground Water Investigation Report submitted in July 2017. The report recommended a Remedial Excavation followed by ground water monitoring.
The DNR determined that more Site Investigation was needed. DNR approved a Change Order/Work Plan October 31, 2017.
Six monitoring wells (MW-1, -2, -3, -4, -5A, 5B) were installed in late November 2017. Followup ground water sampling, hydraulic conductivity tests (slug tests), and a site survey were completed in December 2017.
The wells will be sampled again in March 2018. The results will be submitted to the DNR in a report with our recommendations regarding work needed to achieve Closure with GIS Registry for Soil and Ground Water. The recommendations may include a remedial excavation and ground water monitoring.
