ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP & BROWNFIELDS REDEVELOPMENT
NR700 ACTIVITY PROGRESS REPORT

Reporting Period: 1/1/2014 - 6/30/2014
BRRTS No: 02-41-551923
Activity Name: OHM - WAUWATOSA
Status: Site Investigation
Activity: Field Sampling/Monitoring
Comments: Environmental Forensic Investigations, Inc. (EnviroForensics) has substantially completed site investigations to determine the extent of chlorinated dry cleaning solvent impacts at the above property. During the past 6-month period, we have continued to assess potential vapor intrusion risk to the on-site facility and off-site properties, and results reports have been submitted as required. Currently, we are evaluating the vapor intrusion pathway at an adjacent residential property and an adjacent commercial property. A vapor intrusion risk has been identified at the commercial property; however, the vapor intrusion pathway does not appear to be complete based on the results of indoor air sampling. We are planning to implement soil vapor extraction as part of the site remedy and in the interim will continue to sample paired sub-slab/indoor air sampling at this building periodically to monitor the vapor pathway. We plan to sample sub-slab and indoor air at the adjacent residential property for two more events (one in the winter months) to rule out a vapor intrusion risk according to new WDNR guidance document PUB-RR-986. We are also in the process of completing the Site Investigative Report (SIR) as required in Chapter NR-716, and will complete this report upon our receipt of the vapor intrusion assessment data. As mentioned, we are expecting that an element of site remediation will include soil vapor extraction, and are in the process of procuring insurance funds for pilot testing. We may elect to combine the Remedial Action Options Report (RAOR) with the SIR, if the timing makes sense.
