ARCADIS has conducted remediation of a dissolved PCE plume via injections of a chemical oxidant (permanganate). Following the most recent phase of injections conducted in May 2012, ARCADIS has conducted periodic visual inspections of the injection areas to assess the duration of the oxidant. As long as oxidant is visibly present, it can be assumed VOCs are non-detectable. Thus, collection of groundwater samples for lab analyses was delayed during the time oxidant was visibly observed. Recent observations have indicated the oxidant has since dissipated in the second quarter of 2014 (approximately April 2014), so groundwater sampling will resume the latter half of 2014.
