The subsurface investigation was temporarily suspended at the WDNRâs request in early 2014 to refocus efforts and resources on performing a VI investigation, vapor mitigation and an interim action remediation of PCE source soil.
A vapor mitigation system was installed in the apartment building at 113 Callon Street and started full-time operation on June 3, 2014.
The interim action remediation includes the use of a mobile SVE system to remediate source soil causing VI problems at surrounding buildings. Two SVE wells were installed and the system started operation on June 16, 2014.
The subsurface investigation is anticipated to resume in the fall of 2014.
