The Munger Landing Great Lakes Legacy Act project began construction in July 2022. Excavation/Dredging began in August 2022 and continued through December 2022 when work was temporarily suspended for the winter. Mechanical dredging in Dredge Management Unit 4 was performed in February and March 2023. Hydraulic dredging re-commenced in June 2023 and is expected to continue through November 2023.
Approximately 62,000 cubic yards of sediment have been dredged and disposed of offsite to date.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), and Paramount Global are collaborating as non-federal sponsors with United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Great Lakes National Program Office as the federal sponsor of the project. Paramount Global anticipates filing a BRTTS closure request to the WDNR upon completion of remedial activities in late 2023 or early 2024.
