During this time period, Superior Water, Light & Power (SWL&P), together with Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC (Foth) commenced construction on the upland portion of the Site on April 17, 2023. Prior to construction a public meeting was held on April 4, 2023 and a pre-construction meeting that included WDNR on April 17, 2023. Remedial construction is ongoing with excavation of impacted soil underway beginning in the southern area of the site and the installation of the biosparge system in the northern part of the site. The current schedule projects the construction completion by November 1, 2023.
In addition, SWL&P and Foth continued discussions with WDNR and USEPA on the Project Agreement and Statement of Work (SOW) with GLNPO under the Great Lakes Legacy Act (GLLA) program. This included participating in monthly project collaboration meetings with WDNR and USEPA. It also included coordinating with WDNR and AECOM to update the nature and extent of contamination and proposed dredge prisms and remedial options for the âC-Street Slipâ, a portion of which is adjacent to the Former MGP. Once consensus is gained the updated in-water Remedial Action Options Report will be submitted for concurrent Agency review. The current schedule anticipates completing the in-water sediment remedial design in 2024 and remedial action in 2025.
