The Draft Upland Area Remedial Action (RA) Construction Completion Report documenting the construction activities in the upland areas of the former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Site was submitted to WDNR on February 1, 2024. The Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring (OM&M) phase of the Upland RA project began with the start-up of the Biosparge and Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) systems on April 22, 2024. First quarter (Q1) monitoring was performed in April 2024.
SWL&P and Foth participated in biweekly meetings with WDNR and USEPA, under the Great Lakes Legacy Act (GLLA) program, to advance the remedial design (RD) for sediment within the “C Street Slip.” The Final Remedial Action Options Report for sediment was submitted to WDNR and USEPA on March 29, 2024. SWL&P and Foth then commenced design on the preferred remedial option and held a Workshop with WDNR, USEPA, and the USACE to present and discuss the 30% RD on May 22, 2024. SWL&P, Foth, WDNR, and USEPA also met with adjacent property owners to make them aware of the selected remedy and RD status on May 23, 2024. Foth and SWL&P, with support from WDNR, are continuing to advance the RD and submit a 60% RD Report to the Agencies for review in September 2024. The current schedule anticipates completing the in-water sediment remedial design in early 2025, with remedial action likely to follow in 2026, after the USEPA GLLA contracting process is complete.
