The Case Closure/GIS Registry report package has largely been completed. However, the report submittal is on hold due to the need to resolve historic and complicated lease issues between Magellan (who operates a very small, unmanned, pumping station on Winter Street), former lessee Union Oil of California (Unocal - to whom Magellan formerly subleased that small parcel from), and past and current landowner BNSF railroad, who Unocal formerly leased from. These issues have not yet been resolved. In order to enter into a binding agreement with BNSF that spells out Magellan's responsibility to deal with continuing environmental obligations (as is required in the closure report), resolving these lease issues must precede report submittal. LBG will stay in contact with Magellan with increased urgency, in an attempt to expedite traction on this long-standing and quite involved matter.
